We lean on so many great resources to tackle all the different seasons of life (Parenting, Bible study, Homeschooling) and we wanted to share them with you in case they can help you on your journey too. We do not receive any benefit from your interest or purchase, but wanted to share some items that have helped us on our journey.
COMPLETE ILLUSTRATED CHILDREN’S BIBLE
We love this Children’s Bible because of it’s accuracy and that it captures the entire Bible story better than most other children’s Bibles we have found. The language is challenging, yet accessible, even for toddlers. It is great for adults too, as it is written chronologically and focuses on the main themes of each story.
TALES THAT TELL THE TRUTH
I love this series of books on key themes throughout the Bible for 4-12 year olds. They even focus on many of the concepts from Hebrews (a Bible book I love to teach in an accessible way for toddlers) in their book titled – The Garden, The Curtain, and The Cross. I don’t claim to align with all the doctrine in this series per we, but I have really enjoyed many of these stories to hone in on important messages on the big picture from the Bible. I suggest getting them from their publishing site if you are interested in purchasing them as they often have the best price out there, plus they have activity books and such to go with them.
SHAPING HEARTS FOR GOD – KIDS BIBLE CURRICULUM
This curriculum is wonderful for understanding the Bible. The curriculum covers the entire Bible over 3 years and provides helpful memorization of Bible facts and key ideas and summaries.
THE BIBLE PROJECT
This resource is awesome for providing visual storyboard overviews of whole Books of the Bible, almost like a comic strip—for FREE to download. They have also developed wonderful video content to dive into deep topics and word meaning in the Scriptures tied back to the original Hebrew text. They also have podcasts with their main contributors, one of which is a studied professor and the other who is not, and they discuss these big ideas together to help clarify big ideas in the meta narrative of the Scriptures.
RAISING BOYS AND GIRLS
This is a group of Christian counselors who focus on raising children. We love all of their content, but our favorites are “Wild Things: the Art of Nurturing Boys” and “Raising Worry-Free Girls”.
LOVE AND LOGIC PARENTING
Like most parents, we utilize a blend of parenting styles, but we love the philosophy behind Love & Logic for developing independent, critically thinking adults who are prepared to live as adults.
CLASSICAL CONVERSATIONS – TIMELINE SONG
We are only beginning our homeschooling journey, but we love the CC Timeline song, which is a 13 minute song summarizing every major event in world history, starting with creation. It’s so helpful to have a fun song to help you put events in the context of the appropriate timeline.
